Hair loss care to suit you
I am passionate about supporting you through your hair loss journey and managing your hair and scalp problems respectfully.
I understand that not everyone feels comfortable going to a busy salon for these treatments, so I’m offering a one-to-one consultation, the chance to take time for yourself, in the relaxed and calm environment of the pHd salon, your home or in hospital.
Let me take a little bit of the stress out of a challenging experience.
Wig fitting & styling
I am fully qualified to purchase, fit, cut, style and personalise wigs. Together we will find the perfect wig, style and cut to suit, whether you want to feel like your old self, or a new you!
I can cut, soften or texture any wig to make it look natural and help you to enjoy your wig as though it was your own hair.
Scalp analysis & Care
I am fully trained in the use of hand-held, wireless scopes that magnify by 200x, enabling me to examine the scalp and hair health. By as-sessing the skin, follicles, individual hairs and even the blood supply, I can advise on the best products and actions for problem scalps.

Stage cutting
Losing a lot of hair, suddenly or gradually, can be emotionally and practically challenging.
Stage cutting is a process of gently reducing hair length or adapting the style to reduce the impact of hair loss. So, from long hair we start with a long bob, then a short bob an onto a pixie cut, before the possibility of head shave.
With 35 years as a professional hairdresser I’m able to offer a sympathetic stage cutting service to suit you.
These services are not just for people experiencing radical hair loss, perhaps through illness such as cancer, but also for those with alopecia and other scalp conditions. I hope to reassure and support the local community with an organic and environmentally responsible approach.

About Me
I am Claire Gould (formerly Gilbraith) and I am applying my expertise and passion for hairdressing, hair care and organics, to support people experiencing medical hair loss. In addition to over 30 years of haircare experience I am also a trainee trichologist and member of ART, the association of registered trichologists.
Hair loss can be a challenging experience. I bridge the gap between hairdressing, trichology and organics. I draw on 35 years of hairdressing, including over a decade of organic hair and beauty experience, to support my clients through their unique experiences with kindness, respect and compassion. Not just for you but also your skin, hair, body and the wider environment.
